   Mustered in at Camp Lyon in Geneva on Oct. 25, 1861.
   Home of record listed as Elgin, Ill's.
   23 year old Tailor.
   Issued .58 rifled musket.

   Notice: Oct. 22, 1862 issue Elgin Weekly Gazette.
   The 7th and 52d-Both these regiments were in the fight at Corinth.  The 52d was badly cut up, not so bad however, as some of the others.  Lieut., Col. John S. Wilcox was in command and we learn that he conducted himself with great coolness and bravery.
   The 7th took a hand in when the bayonet charge was made upon the rebels after they had gained the inside of our breastworks.  We do not learn that any of Capt. Lawyer's company from this town were wounded.

Home in 1900 - Elgin, Kane Co., Ill.
Occupation - Watchmaker

       Obit; Aug. 11, 1915 issue of The Elgin Daily Courier.
   Timothy S. Silver, a Civil war veteran, member of Veteran Post No. 49, G.A.R., and also of the 52nd Ill. Vet. Volunteer Assn., died at his residence, 379 Ryerson avenue at 9 o'clock this morning.  He had been ill for 5 years.
   Mr. Silver had been employed in the watch factory for 40 years and retired 5 years ago.  He was a job boss for many years.
   Mr. Silver was born in Crammy, Canada, Nov. 7, 1838.  He came to Illinois with his parents when he was 4 years old.  At the age of 8 he came to this city where he had since lived.
   The 4 years of the war furnished active service for the veteran.  he enlisted in the year 1861 in the 52nd Ill. Regiment and fought in many of the important battles of the war.
   In the years 1871 he married miss Mary Tyler of this city who survives him.
   Mr. Silver was well liked in the Watch Factory and among a large circle of friends.  he had lived in his present home for many years and was always a staunch Republican.
   The funeral service will be held at the residence at 2:30 Friday afternoon.  Burial at Bluff City cemetery.
