Joined Elgin GAR Veteran's Post #49 Aug. 4, 1885.

   As recorded on the Elgin Sexton's ledger
Occupation, Carpenter.  Died Feb. 5, 1904, 5:00 am at 840 Oak St.  Aged 61/8/27.  Cause of death listed as Exhaustion following Apoplexy.  Undertaker retained, Bunker & Chambers.  Physician, Carlton Starrett.  Permit #9539.

   J.H. Reynolds, who had been a carpenter here for many years, died at his residence, No. 840 Oak street, this morning at 3 o'clock.  The deceased was 62 years of age and had spent the last twenty-five years of his life in Elgin.  He was a veteran of the army and navy, having seen acive service in both.  He leaes one daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilkes.
   The funeral will be a private service held at the residentce on oak street.  Rev. Farmilow will officiate.  Burial will be at the Bluff City cemetery.
