B Co.        29th United States Colored Troops
   Mustered In Feb. 18, 1864.
   Home of record listed as Chicago, Ill's.
   Absent, sick at Muster Out of Regiment Nov. 6, 1865.
        Known actions;
Siege of Petersburg, Va.           June 19, 1864
The Crater at Petersburg, Va.   July 30, 1864
Poplar Grove Church               Sept. 29, 1864
Hatcher's Run, Va.             Oct. 27, 1864

       Note;
   In 1879 he was convicted of killing a Mr. Frost near Crystal Lake, Ill.  He attempted to destroy the remains by placing it in a haystack and setting it on fire.  He was sentenced to life in prison and sent to Joliet Prison.

   In April 1885 he died of Consumption (TB) and he body was sent back and buried in South Plato, Ill.

All the post war information was taken from the obit in the April 25, 1885 Every Saturday.  There was no mention of his military service but the name and dates coincide.
