George Sailisbury and son arrived here yesterday forenoon bringing letters, shirts, cheese, and currants from the loved ones at home.  I assure you they received a hearty welcome and I hope sometime to be able to partially repay mother and you for your untiring exertions to promote my comfort.  I am in need of no more clothes.

We were paid off yesterday.  I received 4 months pay, $48.  Mr. Salisbury starts tomorrow for home.  I am sending $40 and reserving $8 for myself.  $5 of this goes to pay borrowed money so that with what I had before being paid I have $3.75.  Now if you think you can afford it I should like to have you give Ellen $10 to buy her a new dress if she has no nice one.
