   Aged 16 years.
   Enlisted Dec. 14, 1863 at Gazenovia.
   Mustered In Jan. 10, 1864.
   Mustered Out Aug. 1, 1865 at Winchester, Va.

Post War;
   Moved to Elgin, Ill. in 1871.
   Worked for Aurora, Elgin, and Chicago Electric Light Co.
   Painter.
   Worked at Watch Factory.
   Joined Elgin GAR Veteran's Post #49 Dec. 11, 1896.

   As recorded on the Elgin Sexton's ledger:  Occupation, Painter.  Died Sept. 7, 1916, 9:30 am at 325 Ryerson.  Aged 68/9/7.  Cause of death listed as Carcinoma of Tongue for 1 year.  Undertaker retained, F. T. Norris.  Physican, O. L. Pelton, Jr.  Permit #16335.

   Charles F. Salisbury, employed for many years with the Aurora, Elgin and Chicago Electric Light company and known among the railroad employes as "Dad" died today at the home of his daughter Mrs. Charles Lowry, 326 Ryerson avenue, after an illness of one year.  He was 69 years of age and was the father-in-law of County Clerk Charles Lowry.
   Mr. Salisbury was a painter by trade.  He worked in the watch factory several years.
   Charles Salisbury was born at Cazenovia, N.Y., Nov. 39 (?), 1847.  He enlisted in Co. F, Twenty-second New York cavalry at the age of 16 years and served two years.  Forty-five years ago he came to Elgin.  He was a member of the local Veteran Post G.A.R.
   He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary I. Salisbury, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Lowry, one son, W.A. Salisbury, Elgin, and a sister, Mrs. Mary S. Pease, Elgin.
   The funeral will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lowry home, 325 Ryerson avenue.  Rev. E.D. Ellenwood will have charge of the services.  The G.A.R. will also conduct services at the house.

   Buried at Bluff City Cemetery (Lot 59, Section 12 with a private purchase headstone) in Elgin, Ill.
