Died April 21, 1910, 9:45 am at Sherman Hospital.  Aged 77/5/18.  Cause of death listed as Exhaustion following LaGripp and Prlumenick (?) for 1 month.  Undertaker retained F. T. Norris.  Physician, W. S. Brown.  Permit #12517.

   The funeral of George Y. Van Nostrand, civil war veteran and for more than a half century a resident of Elgin, took place today from the home, 210 Cherry street.  The local post of the Grand Army of the Republic was in charge.
