2nd Lt. Ithiel Crosby Towner

   Moved to Elgin, Ill. from Chatam, Quebec, Canada and set up a wagon making and blacksmith shop in Elgin.
   In 1860 he left for California in a wagon train.
California Militia
   Aged 30 years.
   Served throughout the war in California.
 
   Returned to Elgin to open a Wagon Making and Blacksmith Shop on the corner of Brooke and Division St's.
   About 1890 Mr. Towner was kicked in the head by one of his horses which disabled him for the remainder of his life.
   Died April 1907 at his home 706 Douglas Ave.
   Buried at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin, Ill.
