       Death Notice – July 28, 1941 issue of the Daily Courier News.
       James Zander, 93 years old, a former resident and veteran of the Civil War, died Saturday at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida.   According to word received by friends and relatives here.   It is presumed the body will be brought to Elgin for the funeral service and burial, definite arrangements to be announced later.

       Funeral services for James T. Zander, a veteran of the Civil War and a former resident of Elgin who died Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla., will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 from Folff funeral home.   The Rev. Thomas E. Ream will officiate, while Edward A. York camp of United Spanish War Veterans will assist with rites at the grave in Soldier's Reserve of Bluff City cemetery.   Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
