M. C. Town.

This old friend has come back to Elgin again. Here years agone, he opened a store and brecame a leading mercant.- He prospered and build the Union Hall Blok on the corner of Main St. and Market Square. That was a notable improvement and gabe the impu8lse which secured the Sherman Hall block Town subsequently established the Elgin Bank, which did safe and legitimate business, but throughj its connections East and West it was dragged down '57 and the fortune of Mr. Town swallowed up. Now he comes back to Elgin to resume his old business. He will temporarily open at No. 19 Main St., but expects soon to come down near to his old place where he will be ready to serve his old customers and as many new ones as may choose to hive him a call. Let a few more of our old business men resume their places and Elgin will seem all reight again. We are sure they will be welcomed with open arms and every facility offorded them to prosper as of old.
