   Lewis H. Nees, a veteran of the Civil war, passed away Monday afternoon at the home of his son, C. L. Nees, 166 Lovell street.
   Mr. Nees was born at Newark, N. J.  He was 64 years and 9 months of age.  His home had been in Chicago for a number of years but he recently came to Elgin to spend some time with his son.  A widow and two sons survive him.  They ar Irving of Chicago and C. L. Nees of this city.
   Deceased was a member of Company K, 2nd New Jersey volunteers.  The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 from 166 Lovell street.  Veterans Post, G.A.R. will have charge.
